Reasons for training with Changing Lives ATA Martial Arts:

I initially started training because of a promise I made my son. I told him when I retired from the Navy that I would start taking classes. It was not only great for my health problems and stress, but I found that it challenged me not only physically but mentally as well. Once he was put into the adult class, then my son and I trained together as well. All my instructors have helped to change my life in a positive way, and hope that I also am helping to change lives.

My next Martial Arts testing date: Worlds 2014 for 5th Degree

A quick story about training with Senior Master Thomas:

During one of my instructor camps, Senior Master Thomas told us we were going to do some beach training and then he met all of us at the oceanfront. We were down by the jetty doing forms, one steps, side kicks, front kicks, and my favorite crescent kicks. It did not matter if you were the first person in the squad line, or the last, since we kept turning facing different directions we all ended up with sand in our hair. But I think the best part of this training was when Senior Master Thomas had all the squads go waist deep into the ocean and practice. It was quite the experience. Oh yes, did I mention that this camp took place in January?
